OFFERING HOME BUYERS SPECIAL EXPERTISE IN CUSTOM
HOME DESIGN,
SITE SELECTION AND INTERIOR DESIGN
Whether building a custom home for a friend
or for someone he just met, Russell Bird, president
of Courtland
Custom Homes, Inc., uses impressive, customer-oriented
architectural and home building know-how to provide
buyers with
a better-designed home that pleasingly
meets individual lifestyles in both
amenities and
style. His close attention to detail results not only in continued
and new friendships, but
also in recommendations from previous buyers.
The talented Houston native has a degree
in architecture from the University of Houston and has
added home building, residential land development and real
estate brokerage skills to his profile by working for several
other companies before starting Courtland Custom Homes,
Inc. Russell has experience in site selection, purchasing,
marketing and financing and served as senior vice president
for a major national home building company. Courtland Custom
Homes was co-founded by Mr. Bird in 1987 and has been building
in numerous custom neighborhoods since that time. Courtland
also builds in First Colony, Sugar Land, Fort Bend County,
and around the Houston area including Bellaire and the
Memorial Villages.
In 1996, Courtland Custom Homes earned the
unique distinction of winning a PRISM award for the second
consecutive year. The PRISM Awards are sponsored by the
Greater Houston Builders Association for excellence in
home building, sales and marketing. Courtland Custom Homes
took the PRISM Award for Custom Patio or Courtyard Home
of the Year in the above $200,000 range and in 1995 for
custom Home of the Year under $450,000.
In
1999, Courtland Custom Homes, Inc. earned its third PRISM
Award from the Greater Houston Builders's Association for
Custom Home of the Year; this time for Custom home of the
Year priced between $450,000 and $750,000. Courtland's
'99 PRISM winner is located in Sugar Land, Texas in the
First Colony Subdivision of Sweetwater Section Four.

In 2000, Courtland received its fourth PRISM award
for a 5300 square foot custom home in Sweetwater, Section
7. In 2001, Courtland Custom Homes received its 5th PRISM
award.
Offering a true "custom" home
program, Russell Bird believes one of the company's
advantages is his architectural background. "I
like the design phase, so I am more active in
that phase of the business than some other builders",
states Bird. "I think this gives our customers
an advantage, in that they get a better designed
home that meets their lifestyle, without as much
wasted space. This creates value in the home.
The best part of being involved in the design
phase is greater communication with the customer,
which allows us to incorporate some of our favorite
design features into the plan. We want each home
we build to "wow" our customers and
their friends." The building process should
be an enjoyable experience and we at Courtland
Custom Homes, Inc. try to build every home as
if it were our own personal home.
This attitude creates trust between
the buyer and builder and establishes a good working
relationship, which can develop into a lasting
friendship. Courtland Custom Homes, Inc. is proud
of our construction success, but more importantly,
we are proud of the fact that we have built homes
for many of our new friends.
